Off to SF

Last night we paid an early birthday visit to Maya since I’ll be gone for her real birthday celebration. We got her a Cinderella dress up dress and accessories and hand me down ice cream cake.

I guess she was planning on wearing the dress to bed.

Even Sparty liked the “light up” shoes.

Well, I’ve landed & must be on my way.

2015 OB Street Fair

Chili Cook-Off – I wonder if this is the same as the toilet-on-wheels riding, paper reading person float in the last Holiday Parade.

Maya didn’t want anything to do with the mime. Sparty, on the other hand …

Super Skaters!

Num Num, Corndog!

I ran into a couple friends from high school.

After the Street Fair we went to the Kids Fair at Liberty Station.

Maya got to meet Cinderella, and also got a hug!

Then some dress-up.

What a happy girl!

It was a long day!

I have a lot of catching up to do in the next couple days. Stay tuned.

RJT/RT4 Electric is up & running!

We have the early morning shift today 5:30-7:30am with Maya & Sparty. It’s 6am. Sparty’s already up & Maya’s still snoozing. I think I’m still snoozing too …

Empty Nest – Full Nest

Our babies are gone – above is one of the babies after it left the nest last week.

We were so sad to see them go, we went to the pet store and bought a feeder, dove food and mealie worms hoping to keep them around. Plus I think Bruce thought the babies needed us to continue to support them. Isn’t that what parents do?

Now we have another hanging pot occupied by nesting mom and dad. This one we can see from the deck outside our bedroom. I’ll try to get a photo soon but don’t want to scare them at this early stage.

Yesterday I had NINE students in my yoga studio! Here they are doing inversions. The ones in the foreground are doing Halasana (plow pose), and the ones in the back are doing a variation of Salamba Sarvangasana (supported all limbs pose aka shoulder stand). One of my students is being scheduled for two shoulder replacements, so I’ve got her doing a variation with legs up the wall to keep the pressure off her shoulders.

Maya Meets Pelagic Red Crab

After Nati’s yesterday we took Maya to the beach to see the crabs. Although they’re perfectly harmless, she didn’t want to have anything to do with them. A lot more had washed onto the beach since we were there in the morning, and the water looked like it was bubbling there were so many squirming around. Here’s a clip.

Maya had my phone in the back seat checking out my pictures & when I got my phone back, there was an extra photo on it I didn’t take …

Crabs or Crawfish?

His morning at the beach, there were tons of these tiny crawfish looking creatures. I check online to find on Feb 23, 2015 these creatures washed up in Orange County. See article below.

Here are more photos I took.

Here’s to mud in your eye

And everywhere else!

Last night one of our babies left the nest, and this morning it looks like the other one may also be gone. I won’t know for sure until I hook up the selfie stick later.
