I’m getting excited about my short trip next weekend to the Bay Area!
Cape May is getting very close to being done. The floors are beautiful, but covered with paper for protection while finishing work is done inside, so I don’t have photos yet.

We Skyped last night from Ron & Jen’s. All seems well in the Bay Area. Alo showed off some of his numbering and color skills. Here’s a photo Akuch sent me earlier in the day yesterday.

A beautiful morning & the drive to work wasn’t too bad, with intermittent rain and a rainbow. We so desperately need the rain.

We had Maya from 3pm Saturday to Monday morning. A lot of playing went on.
And downright cuteness!
Some spaghetti & meatballs & Caesar salad.
And bath time fun.
Hair brushing – it took me about 20 minutes to brush her hair out, but she was very patient & sat still for me the whole time.
This was the pretty hairdo Sunday morning.
And then shortly after lunch (with a tangerine smile) …

Sparty arrived after breakfast on Sunday, and then early afternoon both Maya and Sparty found a good spot to rest!

Last Sunday while we watched Sparty, Maya went to Disney on Ice. I hear she loved it!
Of course, she had to finish her job before she went.
Afterwards a little shopping spree in her Minnie Mouse dress …
& here’s Sparty. I have no idea where this is, but my guess is the library. I think he’s going to take after his daddy & become class clown :-/
A busy day at work for me with lots to do & 5 days in a row off to follow. Monday is Jeff McFaddin’s memorial service, which we’re planning on attending.

Thursday I had a little one-on-one with Maya. Above she is paying close attention in gymnastics to the instructions and demonstration of what she was supposed to do next.
After gymnastics, all ready to go, but needed to put on a little (ok, make that a lot of) lip gloss.
And then I took her to McDonald’s for lunch. Her lunch pretty much consisted of sucking ketchup off French fries and sipping apple juice. Oh & about 2 tiny bites of her cheeseburger.
It’s a kick-back day. I had a good practice this morning & now watching the super bowl, hopeful to Skype Robb, Akuch & Alo later.
I’ll leave you with what Ron texted me earlier “Sparty walked today.” Watch out!!

The best part of Nati’s with Papa Bill is having Peppermint Patties for dessert.
When we visited Friday, Maya was running around the house with her headlamp on. It was so cute, except when she was looking directly at me, blinding me …

On a side note to Grandma, today marks the day an outhouse arrives and the demo guys show up to begin removing all the trash, junk & mess left behind from the previous tenants at 4754. Bruce thinks it could take a couple days to get it cleaned out & the walls demo’d for new electrical and insulation.
Out of respect, I won’t post any “before” photos, but rather will post ongoing photos of the cleaned up premises and work as it moves along so you can see the progress. We’ve made a couple decisions during your absence we think you’ll approve of (mostly to do with the kitchen), and hopefully by the time you return, we’ll have a close-to-finished product. It’s my understanding Cindi will begin work in the loft next week while work downstairs in the bathroom, etc. is going on. Bruce has been working hard pricing, getting estimates, interviewing workers, etc. I think he’s enjoying being a general contractor.
