I’m looking forward to MY turn at Alo this afternoon 🙂 Pictures tomorrow!

It was soooo cold …

How cold was it, you ask?

Cold enough for Annie and Bear to bundle up in their warmest cold-weather attire for their 5:30am walk this morning …

See how patient they can be once they have their leashes secured?

Here’s a picture Robb shared Sunday of Alo hanging out with his Santa Bear. I think he’s practicing his “I’m waiting for Santa” look.

And how about this picture I received of Jamie looking festive and happy.

And now, for the moment you’ve all been waiting for … The proud winner of the “Which tenant was it who locked himself out of his house?” contest … DRUM ROLL … Mom/GreatGrandma/Monette’s answer “Bill” won her lunch Thursday at Nati’s. Of course, she was the only one who played the game, and probably the only person who looks at this blog. Oh well, it keeps me amused and out of trouble (temporarily) 🙂

A day in the life of a property manager

Yesterday afternoon, we were relaxing, watching football, minding our own business, when Bruce got a call from one of the tenants who locked himself out of his house … Lunch this Thursday at Nati’s for the person who guesses the tenant’s name. 🙂

Here’s a song from our Friendly Sons of St. Patrick.

I think they’d been drinking a little too much out of that flask.

Oh what fun it is to play in the yoga studio after the Parade…

Everybody loves a Parade.

At the house before …

Alo, happy to be passed around …

After Maya’s Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride in her stroller (at the hands of Amma) down to the parade, Maya “somehow” found herself in the middle of a group photo with the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, the oldest fraternal organization, which was founded in the United States in 1771 in Philadelphia. One of these men was nice enough to offer his flask to Maya, but I don’t think she wanted anything to do with it, or him!

20131208-094822.jpg
Then it was time to enjoy the parade.

Sorry about this last photo. It was dark so I couldn’t tell if everyone was in the picture and I missed the two Monettes on the left, and Morgan on the right.

A big favorite – Sesame Street characters.

20131208-100002.jpg
My favorite, of which I didn’t get a photo, was the “green flash” – a guy in a trench coat who would “flash” his coat open to expose a torso covered in green lights. He was clearly the perfect addition to a down-home OB Holiday Parade! Classic!

Back at home, there was more taking turns with Alo before he passed out.

The rest of us and Maya had pizza…

20131208-100421.jpg
And we finished it off with cake from the European Cake Gallery (sorry, no photo …). After it was all said and done, and the threat of rain dwindled, I think everyone had a great parade experience!

Tune in again tomorrow for pictures of how eight kids, all under 10, stayed entertained while waiting for pizza to arrive.

Friday afternoon with the Little Man

It was a first for Alo – his mommy dropped him off around 1:30 and his daddy picked him up around 5:30 – four hours with Amma and Papa.

First on the agenda was a little nap.

20131207-075806.jpg
The nap lasted about 45 minutes, and then it was time to coo in the Pack & Play until someone came to pick him up. Don’t mess with Alo… he’s in the Monkey League!

20131207-075907.jpg
We changed him into his bengal jammies just before his daddy came to pick him up. Here he is with Papa with the holiday lights in the background.

Now, as far as the Parade … It’s supposed to rain, but rain or shine, nobody can stop us from having PIZZA! For you parade goers, be here at 4, rain or shine! If it’s not raining, it’s guaranteed to be COLD, so dress accordingly. If it’s raining, we stay inside, eat & enjoy each others’ company.

A visit with Alo (& Robb)

Yesterday we checked in on Robb and Alo to see how they were doing the second day Akuch was at work after maternity leave. Robb was preparing to change a diaper and Alo seemed quite content with his new arrangements. A blanket was spread on the floor with toys where he had just finished some “tummy time” with music playing in the background. Alo didn’t cry the whole time we were there – just some minor fussing due to a run-in with a bottle vs. the real deal. Based on the puppy theory about large paws, by the looks of the size of Alo’s hands, I’d say he’s going to be a BIG BOY!

Here’s a tummy time picture Robb shared with us …

Alo is such a content, happy baby. We’re looking forward to babysitting Friday afternoon!

A BIG HI and THANK YOU for the voice mail message and birthday wishes to one of my best and oldest (as in long time …) friends, KJ (the former Karin Longway), who says she checks in on my blog every morning. Thanks, KJ! We’ll be in touch, and I look forward to seeing you in May, and finally meeting Trevor!

After the rain …

… it’s always so clear, and this time of year the sunsets are amazing. Here’s the horizon last night after the sunset.

Then it rained some more last night and this morning, it was beautiful.
