Robb, Akuch & Alo …

… we say Happy Birthday to Jamie!
Robb, Akuch & Alo stopped by yesterday and took some of the cheesecake home with them, and Toni came to yoga last night & brought all but one tiny piece home to share with The Boys. We’re now down to the one tiny piece that I may devour before the day (& year) is up.
Here’s a picture of Akuch, Alo & Robb at Sunset Cliffs compliments of Akuch.
& here are some other pictures of Akuch & Alo on Christmas compliments of Robb.
I’m looking forward to sending 2013 off with a toast & good dinner at Bali Hai tonight!

Maya’s all bug-eyed …
Maeann’s son, John, rode an old bike over to our house yesterday, and Maeann drove his girlfriend, Akika, to pick up my green 7-speed beach cruiser. They’re going to hang onto it while they’re in SD so they can go on some bike rides. Here’s Akika trying out the height of the seat.

Maeann and I agreed that it doesn’t matter how old our kids are, we’re still going to tell them to be careful!!! I didn’t take an actual count, but I’m sure Maeann told them that at least 5 times before they rode off into the sunset.
Later, I met Jen and Maya at the park on Saratoga & Ebers. I could have watched her for hours …
When we were at the Olive Tree Market down the street two weeks ago, Chris, the owner, was talking about making cheesecake. I told him I make a killer cheesecake. He told us to wait and he ran to the back of the store, coming back with a huge block of cream cheese (3 lbs!) and handed it to me. I guess that was his way of saying “Here’s the cream cheese. Now go make me a cheesecake.” So I did. Yesterday …
Chere’s special recipe crust. Check!
Chere’s special cheesecake filling. Check! The dogs got dibs on licking the beaters.
Final product. Check!
It turned out perfect. At least it looks perfect. Let’s hope I lived up to my words with taste.
We just returned from handing Chris one of the cheesecakes (with my business card … who knows, maybe I’ll get a yoga student out of the deal).
Now I have to figure out what to do with the other cheesecake. Hmmm. A whole cheesecake in my fridge. It’s too much for me to eat alone. Here’s a special deal only for those who read my blog today. I should be home most of the day. Stop by and have a piece, or bring a plate to take a piece home with you. Please call or text first. I plan on practicing this morning and won’t have my phone in the studio with me, so if I don’t answer, I’ll call you back when I’m done.
I even serve the physically disabled … 🙂 If you happen to be handicapped, I will either bring a piece to your house, or if you drive here, I’ll run a piece down to your car.
Oh… while supplies last, of course.
Cheesecake baked with LOVE by Chere!
Alo spent a couple hours with us last night. He was a little grumpy and wasn’t up to having his picture taken. But that’s ok… Instead, he opted to fall asleep on my lap to The Lone Ranger. He told me that next year he plans on asking Santa for a big white horse and a black mask.
Luckily Robb sent me some pictures earlier in the day of a happier Alo. Here’s a picture of him at home enjoying his new bouncer. I know he likes to exercise his legs, so this will help to give him the strength in his legs to run up and down the basketball court for sure!

Pretty soon, the toys will be replaced with a basketball.
Alo seems overly excited when Robb & Akuch’s friend, Ryan paid a visit.

Here’s a cute picture of Akuch and Alo at Liberty Station outside Fig Tree Cafe. This looks like it could be a good place for a photo shoot.

On the northwest corner of Orchard and Guizot, there’s a cute house with native plants growing along the Guizot side. These pretty flowers caught my eye. To me, they look like fire.
There are two different plants & two different colors of flowers.

At long last, a first glimpse of the Xmas Eve pictures! I LOVE the group photo, except I think we need to work a little better on space management. Notice the concentration of people just below the window, and all the open space to the right of the green Christmas tree … (note to self)

There are others, but these are some of my favorites. Enjoy!

It’s a lucky day – I found a wet $5 bill while out on my walk with the dogs this morning!
Yesterday with Alo, he pretty much cried the first 45 minutes straight before he fell asleep in my lap.

That nap didn’t last long, but at least he was happier when he woke up.

And later, he took another short (25 minutes) nap.

First off, what a great birthday party for Bill at Pizza Nova. The staff there decorated and some of the staff who were off duty came and celebrated with him. The best part – they even brought him a whole cake!

When we got home from Bill’s party, Akuch & Alo were at the house waiting for us, and we spent the afternoon babysitting. I took him for a nice walk down to OB and had some quality time at home with him. He took a short nap in the stroller.

He was very happy in his stroller when he woke up, smiling and talking.

The Double Duty began when Ron & Jen dropped Maya off for an all-nighter, and there were plenty of hugs.

Tune in tomorrow for pictures of Maya after she woke up at 1:30am … But don’t worry, she fell back asleep after about an hour and a half.
Today – HAPPY BIRTHDAY RON. Say it isn’t so that our youngest son is 35!!!

The little man was delivered awake & hungry. When his mom left, he was awake & full. Within 10 minutes after she left, he passed out in my arms (see self portrait below).

And shortly thereafter, he and Santa Bear were tucked in for about a 90 minute nap.

A little kickin’ back in the chair.
After a while as the sun was going down and it started getting cold, I noticed Bear found the only place in the house where the sun was shining in (pay no attention to the chewed corner at the bottom of the stairs).
TODAY – HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BILL!!!
Today is also Guruji’s birthday – BKS Iyengar turns 95. There’s something special in store for my yoga students this morning.
Blogged on my iPad at HOME with LOVE and many happy birthday blessings to these two people who I admire.
