At the house before …
Eager faces anxiously awaiting the walk down the hill.
Alo, happy to be passed around …
After Maya’s Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride in her stroller (at the hands of Amma) down to the parade, Maya “somehow” found herself in the middle of a group photo with the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, the oldest fraternal organization, which was founded in the United States in 1771 in Philadelphia. One of these men was nice enough to offer his flask to Maya, but I don’t think she wanted anything to do with it, or him!
Then it was time to enjoy the parade.
Sorry about this last photo. It was dark so I couldn’t tell if everyone was in the picture and I missed the two Monettes on the left, and Morgan on the right.
Papa with Alo.
Here’re some of the interesting floats that went by…
A big favorite – Sesame Street characters.
My favorite, of which I didn’t get a photo, was the “green flash” – a guy in a trench coat who would “flash” his coat open to expose a torso covered in green lights. He was clearly the perfect addition to a down-home OB Holiday Parade! Classic!
Back at home, there was more taking turns with Alo before he passed out.
The rest of us and Maya had pizza…
And we finished it off with cake from the European Cake Gallery (sorry, no photo …). After it was all said and done, and the threat of rain dwindled, I think everyone had a great parade experience!
Tune in again tomorrow for pictures of how eight kids, all under 10, stayed entertained while waiting for pizza to arrive.
