Surf’s Up on Max’s birthday

I stole this picture from Morgan’s FB post of the boys with their trophies after the surf contest yesterday. I didn’t make it to the surf contest because of teaching and babysitting, but the picture speaks for itself. Part of that speaking for itself might be that every kid received a trophy??? Just wondering … It’s a great photo though. Definitely annual calendar worthy!

Little Sparty arrived sound asleep in his car carrier yesterday while I was teaching. When he woke up, his little foot found a hole in the blanket.

He was happily being occupied by playing with the blanket with his toes. So I snuck up on him and took this photo through the hole …

He’s starting to be a real person now. He drank his bottle, we played a while, I wore him out, and then he passed out.

Here he is being cute just sleeping soundly.

Gearing up for another beautiful day!

Taking the leap

He did, too. Seconds after I took this picture Hogan “jumped” down to the lower level and was rewarded with a freshly picked rose. Num Num.

Looks like the twins had a good day at the beach yesterday.

Now he’s not …

And to finish the day – a beautiful sunset. Too bad the photo doesn’t capture how really spectacular it was.

School Field Trip

Morgan sent me these pictures from the Zoo this week. The twins were on a field trip and Morgan was a volunteer parent chosen to be in charge of “random children.” hmmm… Can you find the monkey??

Bugs, of course!

Mom/Grandma has sent a couple messages from abroad via comments to blog posts. Look for those & see what she’s up to. You can also respond to her comment if you want.

Note to Mom … Yesterday we had a big lunch at Nati’s with Bill. The whole family was there … except you. You’re missed & we hope you’re having a great time. Be safe & keep the comments coming. Love you!

Today, Alo and Amma. It’s a beautiful day. Perhaps a walk to the beach is in order.

The craziness …

It makes me tired just watching that!

Not surprisingly, Maya passed out on the way home.

And I woke up late, tired and sore from all the trampolining.

The party was a great success!

Robb, Akuch and Alo stopped at the house on the way to the party.

SF / SD

I’m still heavy in workshop & haven’t had any spare time to get out and see the sights. The picture above is of a character on a street post about 2 blocks from the motel where I’m staying.

It rained most of yesterday, but that didn’t affect me since I was inside & could only hear the pitter patter on the sky window in the yoga a studio.

Below is a photo of Alo I got off Facebook that Akuch posted.

She said that Alo’s learned that he can fake cough now to get attention.

Here’s a picture Morgan posted of the twins.

And lastly… Bruce sent me this video of Alo playing with one of the new shaker toys we got for the kids to play with at the house.

Lunch with Alo yesterday & a couple throwbacks.

(Akuch, Bill, Monette & Bruce, too)

Alo was all smiles when he showed up to Nati’s and was good the whole time we were there. That is, until Akuch put him back in his stroller …

He’s got the puffy lip action going on 🙂

Yesterday I was looking at some old photos on my computer and came across some pictures of my cousin, Matt, from Klamath Falls. So I called him. We had a really nice talk, and talked for over an hour. Damn that guy’s smart, and he has a memory! I suppose I should be sharing a picture of him, but I didn’t send any of the pictures to my photo stream. If I have time today, I’ll do that so I can share them.

But here are a couple pictures that might bring smiles …

Pretty hilarious!

After Ron sees this next picture on my blog, I may never live to post again. This may be the last picture I have of Ron with (not just hair, but…) dreadlocks!

20140126-094157.jpg
I’m going to guess he was 17 when the picture was taken. If you look closely past the dreads, you can still see that cute face and dimple. I’m going to run and hide now …

Bells will be ringing …

At long last, a first glimpse of the Xmas Eve pictures! I LOVE the group photo, except I think we need to work a little better on space management. Notice the concentration of people just below the window, and all the open space to the right of the green Christmas tree … (note to self)

A day in the life of a property manager

Yesterday afternoon, we were relaxing, watching football, minding our own business, when Bruce got a call from one of the tenants who locked himself out of his house … Lunch this Thursday at Nati’s for the person who guesses the tenant’s name. 🙂

Here’s a song from our Friendly Sons of St. Patrick.

I think they’d been drinking a little too much out of that flask.

Oh what fun it is to play in the yoga studio after the Parade…

Everybody loves a Parade.

At the house before …

Alo, happy to be passed around …

20131208-093928.jpg
After Maya’s Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride in her stroller (at the hands of Amma) down to the parade, Maya “somehow” found herself in the middle of a group photo with the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, the oldest fraternal organization, which was founded in the United States in 1771 in Philadelphia. One of these men was nice enough to offer his flask to Maya, but I don’t think she wanted anything to do with it, or him!

20131208-094822.jpg
Then it was time to enjoy the parade.

A big favorite – Sesame Street characters.

20131208-100002.jpg
My favorite, of which I didn’t get a photo, was the “green flash” – a guy in a trench coat who would “flash” his coat open to expose a torso covered in green lights. He was clearly the perfect addition to a down-home OB Holiday Parade! Classic!

Back at home, there was more taking turns with Alo before he passed out.

The rest of us and Maya had pizza…

20131208-100421.jpg
And we finished it off with cake from the European Cake Gallery (sorry, no photo …). After it was all said and done, and the threat of rain dwindled, I think everyone had a great parade experience!

Tune in again tomorrow for pictures of how eight kids, all under 10, stayed entertained while waiting for pizza to arrive.
