Dedication to a Legend

Above – A photo of Evan’s license plate.

When the company I work for (Pacific Medical Buildings aka PMB) moved its office shortly after Evan Stone died, the company honored Evan by naming a conference room after him. Some items of interest in that room are (1) a photo of Evan’s license plate on his red Tesla that was buried with him (the license plate, not the Tesla), (2) Evan’s hat (he loved that hat), and (3) etched on the glass door of the room is his digital signature, one I saved on the network and placed in many PDFs of filings, letters, agreements and whatever else needing his signature.

As I’ve mentioned before, I knew Evan since 1992 when I worked with him at a law firm, and I later hooked up to work with him at PMB. He was a dear friend of not only me but his entire PMB family.

When I walked by the conference room and saw the license plate photo it brought tears to my eyes, and it touched my heart to see etched on the door the signature that became part of my every working day there.

Evan truly was, as one of his friends told me yesterday “one of the good guys.”

Isn’t the picture amazing? Also, the red clock in the room is the same one that he had in his office (and he got one for Jim Rohan, too.) Ben has Evans’s now so I ordered another for the conference room (it’s red, from the MOMA store.)
