Had a great time yesterday at the park with Alo. Captain Adorable and I played on the jungle gym and Alo met lots of young friends. These selfies are taken on the jungle gym, where we hung out a long time. Check out that tooth! There’s another one waiting to sprout you also may be able to see under the gum.

As usual, Alo crashed pretty hard after all the fresh air activity.

Two hours later I had to wake him up to feed him before Robb came to pick him up.
I’m teaching this morning (a BIG class!), then Sparty comes for a visit while the rest of his family goes to the circus. I have a couple really good videos uploaded to YouTube and some other pictures I’ll be sharing in the next couple days.

Maya and Alo sit among the kids at the Pt. Loma Library Magic show.
Evidently the magician was doing Pappa’s “hide the quarter” trick … better than Pappa…

Then at Nati’s, Alo was looking to Bill for entertainment. The two of them exchanged some silly moments and Alo was loving it, waiting for more.

This afternoon Alo comes for a visit and playtime, then tomorrow Sparty will spend some time with us.

… an airplane! I think this is one of Alo’s favorite past times, watching airplanes fly over. While sitting on the deck last Thursday, there were plenty of exciting things to look at – airplanes flying over, cars & trucks (of all colors) driving by, people walking dogs. Lots to see and talk about.
Then on Friday during our regular “Alo Time” we spent much of the time in Hogan’s yard. Alo walked up and down the walk holding onto the house and gate exploring, enjoying being independent in the yard, and making raspberry sounds with his mouth – I wish I could take credit for this new sound, but Robb, I did not teach him this.

He found the blue tag lock to the breaker box quite interesting and tried to figure out how that thing works using great dexterity with his fingers and hands …

And Alo’s newfound friend Hogan entertained himself by following Alo around. Alo isn’t the least bit afraid of Hogan.

… to get all three grandkids together in one photo looking at (or near) the camera!

While I was teaching yesterday morning, I looked out the window and saw the neighbor took down his work of art. Whew! As of this morning, it’s still gone. We’re hoping it stays that way. Already prospective buyers are looking at the house today.

Alo spent some time with us yesterday. We sat in the yard a while playing and watching airplanes fly over, then we ventured over into Hogan’s yard. We first gave him a good aerial view of the 4-legged desert wonder.

Then he got to sit and interact with him at ground level. No fear …

Afterwards, we played in the yoga studio for a while where Bruce and I tricked him into walking 3 steps and a few minutes later he walked 4 steps. Walking toward me both times, he had a look on his face that said “Yo, Dude, check me out. I’m walking.” Then when he finally figured out he was being tricked he played the “cling-on” game and he wouldn’t let go of his death grip. Watch out everybody! Alo’s well on his way to be a 2-footed traveller! Watch for videos here.
Our neighbors’ realtor held an open house yesterday, and sure enough they set up a cozy little wine & view corner, utilizing the plywood piece of junk overlooking our deck and yard. I like the way they used a scarf to conceal the unfinished seam in the two pieces of plywood.

Watch out for those splinters!

Alo loves looking at airplanes. I think it’s one of his favorite pastimes. We get to have him today for a couple hours, so you can guaranty we’ll be spending some of that time looking in the sky.
These pictures Robb took when he came to pick Alo up on Monday.
So our next door neighbors (the ones to the north) this week put their house on the market. They’re asking $859k. As part of the “fix up” to make the property more appealing, someone, either the owner or an agent for the realtor, constructed this beautiful outdoor “bar” for sitting, talking, drinking, eating…

Among the many problems with this addition eyesore is the fact that it overhangs about 8 inches over the property line, above our deck. You can see from the photos that it’s ugly, unfinished, and poorly constructed. Interestingly, our neighbor works in … construction! The photo below is from the street. Our property line is 3″ on the left side of the block wall, making this block wall entirely on our property (aka, our block wall on our deck). The “eyesore” comes out almost to the inside (our side) of the block wall.

You may be thinking I’m not very happy about this. Well guess what? You’re right.
But on a happier note … Who’s up for Nati’s at 11:30???

Had great fun with Alo yesterday.
This one speaks for itself (pun intended).

Beware while traveling around SD this weekend. You may spot some oddities like the blue bearded beached whale above, or the green haired weirdo below.

Submit your sighting photos to me for posting!
I wanted to post a video Akuch sent me of Alo climbing the stairs, but unfortunately, there’s some sort of glitch sending videos from the Samsung to the iPhone. I’ll have to play with the video on the big computer and see if I can post it tomorrow …
