June Blooms
Our Plumeria must be maturing. Normally it doesn’t bloom until late in the season, but this year we have lots of buds & some are already blooming. They smell so good, too!
This little gem has been with us since the first year we moved back to OB – almost eleven years ago (how time flies)! We bought it at the Del Mar Fair, and Bruce swore I’d kill it. We’ll guess what?
These beautiful, durable purple blooms last a long time too!

Random Stuff
So I go out to the patio this morning & find that some critter, while crawling along our block wall, knocked off one of our blooming orchids!
Poor thing… I’m preparing to teach at 9am, so I scooped it up & placed it in a temporary holding tank (which could end up being permanent).
Yesterday, Akuch took the day off to take care of some stuff, so I didn’t have Alo. But I did go to swim with Bruce & Maya.
At the pool, there are lots of little pool toys. Maya was playing with a plastic shark that swam away from her & landed at the bottom of the deep end, which is really only about 5′ deep. She insisted that Zack, her swim coach retrieve it, but instead, he held her up to take in a breath & pushed her to the bottom of the pool where she snagged the shark & came up with it pleased with herself that she had her precious shark back.
More to come tomorrow.

Bloomers
I’ve been saving these pictures I took a couple weeks ago of orchid blooms in the yard.
These blooms are long lasting, so we’ll be enjoying them for quite a while. There are many other buds either waiting to bloom or that are just now blooming. I’ll capture those over the weekend to share.

Picking up dog poop isn’t all that bad …
Friday night with Alo
Alo spent a couple hours with us last night. He was a little grumpy and wasn’t up to having his picture taken. But that’s ok… Instead, he opted to fall asleep on my lap to The Lone Ranger. He told me that next year he plans on asking Santa for a big white horse and a black mask.
Luckily Robb sent me some pictures earlier in the day of a happier Alo. Here’s a picture of him at home enjoying his new bouncer. I know he likes to exercise his legs, so this will help to give him the strength in his legs to run up and down the basketball court for sure!
Pretty soon, the toys will be replaced with a basketball.
Alo seems overly excited when Robb & Akuch’s friend, Ryan paid a visit.
Here’s a cute picture of Akuch and Alo at Liberty Station outside Fig Tree Cafe. This looks like it could be a good place for a photo shoot.
On the northwest corner of Orchard and Guizot, there’s a cute house with native plants growing along the Guizot side. These pretty flowers caught my eye. To me, they look like fire.
There are two different plants & two different colors of flowers.
