Maya and the trampoline

I took the day off yesterday to get our tax stuff together. It pretty much takes an entire day (UGH!). But luckily for me, Maya had gymnastics and I had the opportunity to go watch, and actually followed her around keeping her corralled to the task at hand, whatever that was at the time.

There were probably 10 kids, all about Maya’s age. During the hour, there were many fun things to do, like …

– hang on the bars, pulling up to look over, bringing the feet up to touch the bar, and learning how to drop onto the floor from the bar safely,

– jump up on big plastic-wrapped cushions and do backward sumersaults over them,

– do handstands (feet to wall), and

– JUMP on the trampoline. This clearly was Maya’s favorite. Here she is jumping with her teacher.

Then, when it was all over all the kids lined up to get a tattoo and sticker (Maya still has her sticker on this morning).

Happy Birthday to Max

Grandma (GraMoMo) sent me some photos she took at the surf contest Saturday morning, which was also Max’s birthday. I think she did a pretty good job of it! Here are the ones I think turned out the best.

Surf’s Up on Max’s birthday

I stole this picture from Morgan’s FB post of the boys with their trophies after the surf contest yesterday. I didn’t make it to the surf contest because of teaching and babysitting, but the picture speaks for itself. Part of that speaking for itself might be that every kid received a trophy??? Just wondering … It’s a great photo though. Definitely annual calendar worthy!

Little Sparty arrived sound asleep in his car carrier yesterday while I was teaching. When he woke up, his little foot found a hole in the blanket.

He was happily being occupied by playing with the blanket with his toes. So I snuck up on him and took this photo through the hole …

He’s starting to be a real person now. He drank his bottle, we played a while, I wore him out, and then he passed out.

Here he is being cute just sleeping soundly.

Alo & Amma Selfies

Had a great time yesterday at the park with Alo. Captain Adorable and I played on the jungle gym and Alo met lots of young friends. These selfies are taken on the jungle gym, where we hung out a long time. Check out that tooth! There’s another one waiting to sprout you also may be able to see under the gum.

As usual, Alo crashed pretty hard after all the fresh air activity.

Two hours later I had to wake him up to feed him before Robb came to pick him up.

I’m teaching this morning (a BIG class!), then Sparty comes for a visit while the rest of his family goes to the circus. I have a couple really good videos uploaded to YouTube and some other pictures I’ll be sharing in the next couple days.

Magical Cousins

Evidently the magician was doing Pappa’s “hide the quarter” trick … better than Pappa…

Then at Nati’s, Alo was looking to Bill for entertainment. The two of them exchanged some silly moments and Alo was loving it, waiting for more.

This afternoon Alo comes for a visit and playtime, then tomorrow Sparty will spend some time with us.

Today … the Magic Show!

We got Maya early this morning & she gets to meet Alo at the Pt. Loma Library for a Magic Show, then Nati’s with Bill! I’ll have photos tomorrow.

Sparty didn’t seem too upset about Jen going back to work Monday.

He’s such a beautiful baby, and check out those chunky legs.

We have a new orchid in bloom.

… and some other orchids that’ve been blooming for a while.

The bloom just above smells like pina colata.

If I get reincarnated as an orchid, I want to have this view:

It was a little overcast, but still not too bad to look at.

Today’s my Friday. Tomorrow, something to look forward to – lunch with Bill! Akuch … are you going to join us??

It’s a bird. It’s Superman. It’s …

… an airplane! I think this is one of Alo’s favorite past times, watching airplanes fly over. While sitting on the deck last Thursday, there were plenty of exciting things to look at – airplanes flying over, cars & trucks (of all colors) driving by, people walking dogs. Lots to see and talk about.

Then on Friday during our regular “Alo Time” we spent much of the time in Hogan’s yard. Alo walked up and down the walk holding onto the house and gate exploring, enjoying being independent in the yard, and making raspberry sounds with his mouth – I wish I could take credit for this new sound, but Robb, I did not teach him this.

He found the blue tag lock to the breaker box quite interesting and tried to figure out how that thing works using great dexterity with his fingers and hands …
