More on Mothers Day

Above – The Girls enjoying a little outdoors on the patio.

Below – Pappa can’t seem to find his way.

Maya changes into Sparty’s new Spider-Man jammies (leaving Sparty to wear hers…).

Before everyone came over I did a short restorative practice while Ziggy gets as close up and personal as he can.

Happy Mothers Day!

Above – I was surprised yesterday when these beautiful flowers were delivered from my beautiful niece Jamie. Then later with a card that was so nice it brought me to tears.

Below – (Friday) Sparty hanging out by the box of presents we brought him for his 2nd birthday.

Maya in the cowboy costume with Sparty as a fireman in the background doing what firemen do best … going shopping!

You don’t want to know how much ice cream cake this girl can put down!

Sparts did a pretty good job with his too.

Kando turned 9 months last week!

In case you tune in today … Happy birthday to my favorite cousins Tony & Karen. I love you both very much and hope you have a great day, but that Karen’s day is just a teeny tiny bit better because it’s also Mothers Day!

And Happy Mother’s Day, Mom. I love you very much!

Happy Second Birthday Sparty

Ron and Jen took the kids to Disneyland for Sparty’s birthday. It looks like they had a great time!

I like this photo where the birthday boy just woke up from a nap. Every kid should have a photo in his car seat with Mickey Mouse!

Friday night dinner at Ranchos.

Sparty didn’t like that …

Maya is right at home on the counter at our house.
Akuch called to my attention that I missed mention of other people in this photo that I posted the other day. Behind Robb and Alo you’ll see Jen, Maya, Ron and Sparty.

Hogan’s soaking up what’s remaining of the afternoon sunshine. As soon as the yard fills with shade he disappears for the rest of the day. Take note of the blooming orchids.

Merry Go Round, Music & Mouse

Above – Robb & Alo ride the Balboa Park Merry Go Round when they were here a couple weeks ago.

Below – Sparty saying cheese after music. As part of the routine, after class he climbs on the chair to get his shoes on.

Last Friday after having dinner at Fiddler’s, look who had been sitting in the booth next to us the whole time, and we didn’t even know it until they got up!

In this video you will see how incredible Maya has gotten in gymnastics. She is at home on the high and low beams. No other child in her class can walk backwards on the high beam with no spotting, or walk the low beam jumping over the marks without falling. She is a stand out! In this video she’s on the high beam first.

I’m in a workshop this weekend and gearing up for another one next week.

I’m feeling accomplished now that I received the final tax returns for filing that I worked so hard on and the Trust accounting is now complete – 4 mega projects off my plate. Now I just have to find time this weekend to review them before giving approval for filing and getting the payments in the mail Monday.

Selfies

Above – I don’t know how they did it, but here’s a Bear & Ziggy selfie.

Another Wednesday and looking forward to more time with the Sparts & Maya today. It’s a beautiful day but I hear there’s a threat of rain. Maybe El Nino will hit tonight … ???

Where to Begin?

Above – Adorable Kando at 5 months (from Akuch’s FB post)

There’s so much to say and photos to post but I’m behind on posting so I’ll just have to catch up over the next couple days. Just because I’ve been busy doesn’t mean I haven’t take lots of photos – Maya at gymnastics, flooding, etc. But we’ll start in order …

Monday (before the rains) at Ladera Street here’s the little squirrel again. Could it be “Secret Squirrel” reincarnated?

In the mornings before heading out on our walks I sit on the stairs to put my socks on where Bear is always there to remind me to hurry up. This is when I have to be on guard so “the tongue” doesn’t find my glasses!

We have these two clerks at work who come in a couple afternoons after high school to do odd jobs. We’ve got them scanning a bunch of closing binders so we can shred them. Evidently it takes TWO to do a scanning job which can only be done while seated. One pulls the pages from the binder and hands it to the other who scans it in. It must be the new generation way. I don’t know how I ever got along with all those scanning projects I’ve done all by myself while standing!

But seriously, aren’t they cute? They really are doing a great job.

Wednesday morning didn’t get off to a very good start … Luckily for us (let me rephrase … luckily for Bruce) this happened between downpours. We were on our way home because I was to pick Sparty up for music. The bad news, I didn’t make it to music. The good news is the technology in this new Mercedes notified me immediately the right back tire was losing air – a great feature!

Sexy spare tire!

Look, there’s a rainbow!

Then we picked Maya up from school for ‘nastics and “somebody” forgot to pack her ‘nastics clothes. So we bought her a new little outfit and all was well.

Complete with a matching hair tie.

I’ve got another busy weekend ahead of me – I’m headed to LA tomorrow and then Sunday we have both Maya and Sparty all day, starting at 5am!! We’re hoping to go to the Zoo, weather permitting.

The Life We Bury

Not much to say today except I finished this book yesterday. It’s was fairly short and very entertaining. I give it a thumbs up and a high recommendation.
